Photographer Don Langson at CVAC
Jan. 30-March 22, 2024

Carson Valley Arts Council (CVAC) presents photographer Don Langson at the Copeland Gallery in Minden from January 30 through March 22, 2024. Carson Valley Arts Council will host an artist’s reception for Don on Saturday, February 10 from 1 until 3 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Come and meet Don Langson.

Don’s unusual talent comes from Don’s study under the Masters of Photography such as Ansel Adams, Ralph Gibson, Paul L. Gittings Jr., Robert Heineeken, George Krause, Nathan Lyons, Jerry Uelsmann, and Cole Weston to name a few.

Through Don’s work viewers can instantly transport themselves to the location of the photo to experience the color, texture, mood and feelings of the environment. His photographs allow the viewer their own interpretation, their own memories and storytelling.

Don has taught photography in Texas and Nevada; is a founding member of the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston; and the Houston Photographic Society as well as a member of Friends of Photography in Camel, California. Don is also an accomplished printmaker. Don’s current venture is interpreting the vast landscapes of the American West. The exhibit can be viewed Monday through Saturday 10 am to 5 pm. Don’s work will be available for purchase.

REDUCE TAXES, INCREASE IMPACT!

The IRA charitable rollover or Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD) provides several benefits. If YOU are 70½ and older, you can transfer up to $100,000 from a traditional IRA directly to a nonprofit each year. You pay NO taxes on the transfer and your gift counts dollar-for-dollar to support our important work in Carson Valley.

To benefit this year, your IRA Qualified Charitable Deduction needs to be made before December 31. Call your financial advisor or IRA administrator for more details on how to make the IRA charitable rollover work for you.

How It Works…. You have your IRA administrator simply write the QCD check to “Carson Valley Arts Council”. The check can be given to you to deliver to the Carson Valley Arts Council or mailed directly to CVAC.

MAJOR GIFT WITH MINOR EFFORT

Many people are discovering that they can make a big difference to help further our mission with QCD or IRA charitable rollover gift. For an added benefit consider designating our organization as a beneficiary of your IRA or in your estate plan. Thanks to you, our mission will continue . . .
